A vibrant and aromatic Thai soup with shrimp, fresh herbs, and a perfectly balanced hot and sour broth that feels both comforting and refreshing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 300 grams shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 lemongrass stalks, cut into pieces
  • 4 kaffir lime leaves
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 200 grams mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 small chili peppers, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 liter chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. Place a medium pot over medium heat.
  2. Add chicken broth, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, garlic, and chili peppers and bring to a gentle simmer.
  3. Let the broth simmer to infuse the flavors.
  4. Add mushrooms and shrimp into the pot.
  5. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes until the shrimp turns pink and is fully cooked.
  6. Stir in fish sauce, lime juice, and sugar, then taste and adjust seasoning.
  7. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot.
