Description

A rich and creamy pasta dish inspired by the classic Philly cheesesteak, loaded with tender beef, sautéed peppers and onions, and a smooth cheesy sauce that wraps every bite in comfort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces penne pasta
  • 1 pound beef strips, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup green bell peppers, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups provolone cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the penne pasta until just tender. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the sliced beef and cook until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add onions, bell peppers, and garlic. Cook until soft and slightly caramelized.
  5. Return the cooked beef to the skillet and stir to combine.
  6. Pour in the heavy cream and stir gently to combine.
  7. Add the shredded provolone cheese gradually, stirring until melted and smooth.
  8. Add the cooked pasta and toss until fully coated in the sauce.
  9. Season with salt and black pepper, adjust to taste, and let simmer briefly.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

  • Slice the beef as thin as possible for the best texture.
  • Use freshly shredded cheese for a smoother sauce.
  • Add a splash of cream when reheating to keep the sauce creamy.
  • Do not overcook the pasta to maintain a good texture.
