Description

Creamy lemon chicken pasta made with tender chicken, silky parmesan sauce, fresh lemon juice, and perfectly cooked pasta for a comforting yet bright dinner.


Ingredients

  • 2 large boneless skinless chicken fillets, sliced thinly
  • 12 ounces fettuccine or linguine
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Season the sliced chicken with salt and black pepper.
  3. Add olive oil to the skillet and cook the chicken for 4 to 5 minutes per side until golden and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
  4. Melt the butter in the same skillet and sauté the garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth, lemon juice, and lemon zest.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and parmesan cheese, then simmer gently until smooth.
  7. Cook the pasta until al dente and transfer it directly into the sauce with a splash of pasta water.
  8. Return the chicken to the skillet and toss everything together until coated in the sauce.
  9. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately with extra parmesan if desired.

Notes

  • Freshly grated parmesan melts more smoothly than pre shredded cheese.
  • Reserve pasta water to adjust the sauce consistency if needed.
  • Fresh lemon juice gives the brightest flavor.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
