Description

Creamy garlic parmesan tortellini with juicy chicken and tender broccoli in a rich and comforting parmesan cream sauce. This cozy pasta dinner comes together quickly and tastes like restaurant-quality comfort food.


Ingredients

  • 20 ounces refrigerated cheese tortellini
  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, sliced into bite-sized pieces
  • 3 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 1/2 cups freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Season the chicken with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Add olive oil to the skillet and cook the chicken for 6 to 8 minutes until golden and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
  4. Melt butter in the same skillet and sauté garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring gently.
  6. Add parmesan cheese gradually and stir until smooth and creamy.
  7. Cook tortellini according to package instructions and add broccoli during the last 2 minutes of cooking.
  8. Drain the tortellini and broccoli, then add them to the skillet.
  9. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss everything together until coated in sauce.
  10. Garnish with parsley and extra parmesan before serving warm.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated parmesan for the smoothest sauce.
  • Add a splash of broth while reheating leftovers to keep the sauce creamy.
  • Do not boil the sauce after adding parmesan.
  • Cook broccoli just until tender for the best texture.
