Description

A rich and moist chocolate heart cake layered with deep cocoa flavor, covered in silky chocolate ganache, and topped with fresh chocolate-dipped strawberries for the ultimate romantic dessert.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, washed and dried
  • 1/2 cup melted chocolate

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a heart-shaped cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Slowly combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and mix until fully incorporated.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top evenly.
  6. Bake for 32 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool completely on a cooling rack.
  8. Heat the heavy cream until warm but not boiling, then pour it over the dark chocolate chips.
  9. Stir until the chocolate melts completely and forms a smooth ganache.
  10. Pour the ganache over the cooled cake and spread gently with a spatula.
  11. Dip the strawberries into the melted chocolate and place them on top of the cake.
  12. Chill slightly before slicing and serving.
