- 1 large head green cabbage, cut into wedges
- 14 ounces smoked sausage, sliced into rounds
- 1 1/2 pounds baby potatoes
- 3 ears corn on the cob, cut into rounds
- 3 large carrots, sliced thick
- 1 large yellow onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Place a large Dutch oven or stockpot over medium heat.
- Add chicken broth, onions, garlic, potatoes, carrots, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and black pepper into the pot.
- Bring the broth to a gentle boil while stirring occasionally.
- Add sliced sausage and corn rounds, then carefully place cabbage wedges into the pot.
- Cover and simmer for 25 to 30 minutes until the potatoes are fork tender and the cabbage is soft.
- Stir in butter and fresh parsley right before serving.
- Ladle into bowls with plenty of broth and serve hot.
