Description

White Sauce Spaghetti is a creamy, comforting pasta dish made with a velvety béchamel sauce, perfectly coating each strand of spaghetti. It’s a simple yet elegant meal that’s ideal for a cozy dinner or quick lunch.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz (225g) spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter.
  3. Add flour and whisk constantly for about 1 minute to form a roux.
  4. Slowly pour in milk while whisking to prevent lumps.
  5. Continue to cook and stir until the sauce thickens, about 3–5 minutes.
  6. Add salt, pepper, and garlic powder (if using). Stir to combine.
  7. Add Parmesan cheese (if using) and stir until melted and smooth.
  8. Add cooked spaghetti to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
  9. Serve warm, garnished with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Use whole milk for a richer sauce, or skim milk for a lighter version.
  • Add cooked chicken, mushrooms, or broccoli for a heartier meal.
  • Double the sauce if you prefer an extra creamy pasta.
