Description
Soft, fluffy donuts filled with sweet and airy whipped cream for a decadent treat that’s perfect with coffee or as a special dessert.

- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Whipped Cream Filling: 1 cup heavy cream, 2 tbsp powdered sugar, 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix warm milk, yeast, and 1 tbsp sugar. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Add melted butter, egg, and yeast mixture. Knead until a soft dough forms.
- Cover and let rise for 1–1.5 hours until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and roll it out to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut out donut shapes using a round cutter.
- Place donuts on a baking sheet, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry donuts 1–2 minutes per side until golden. Drain on paper towels.
- Whip the cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
- Once donuts are cool, pipe the whipped cream into the center of each donut using a pastry bag with a nozzle.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- Chill the mixing bowl and whisk for faster whipped cream preparation.
- Use chocolate whipped cream for a variation.
- Donuts are best eaten the same day they’re made.
