Description

A thick, hearty chili filled with ground beef, kidney beans, pinto beans, and a rich tomato base simmered with warm spices. This comforting bowl is savory, satisfying, and perfect for cozy meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can (15 ounces) red kidney beans
  • 1 can (15 ounces) pinto beans
  • 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat a large pot over medium heat and add the olive oil.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook until browned while breaking it apart with a spoon.
  3. Stir in the chopped onion and minced garlic and cook until softened and fragrant.
  4. Add the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, kidney beans, pinto beans, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Stir everything together well and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  6. Cook for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally so the flavors blend and the chili thickens.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  8. Serve hot in bowls and enjoy.

Notes

  • Let the chili simmer gently rather than boiling to maintain a thick texture.
  • If the chili becomes too thick, add a small splash of beef broth.
  • For thicker chili, mash a few beans during cooking.
  • The flavor improves after resting, making it excellent for next day leftovers.
