Description
Ultimate Surf and Turf with Garlic Cream Sauce is a luxurious, restaurant-quality dish featuring juicy seared steak and succulent shrimp or lobster, all draped in a rich, garlicky cream sauce. Perfect for special occasions or romantic dinners at home.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 filet mignon steaks (6–8 oz each)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter (divided)
- 8 large shrimp (peeled and deveined) or 1 lobster tail, split
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup chicken broth or white wine
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme or parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Season steaks generously with salt and pepper. Let sit at room temperature for 15–20 minutes.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steaks 3–4 minutes per side (or to desired doneness). Add 1 tablespoon butter for basting. Remove and rest.
- In the same skillet, add 1 tablespoon butter and cook shrimp (or lobster) 1–2 minutes per side until just opaque. Remove and set aside.
- Lower heat to medium. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
- Deglaze pan with chicken broth or wine, scraping up browned bits. Simmer for 2 minutes.
- Add heavy cream and Parmesan. Stir until smooth and thickened, 3–4 minutes.
- Return steak and seafood to pan. Spoon sauce over and heat for 1–2 minutes.
- Garnish with herbs and serve hot with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or rice.
Notes
- Use filet mignon for tenderness, but ribeye or strip steak also work.
- Add a splash of lemon juice to brighten the garlic cream sauce.
- For an extra indulgent touch, top with a dollop of garlic herb butter before serving.
