- 1 block Extra Firm Tofu, pressed and sliced
- 3 tablespoons Soy Sauce
- 1 tablespoon Maple Syrup
- 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- 4 slices Whole Grain Bread
- 2 medium Ripe Tomatoes, sliced
- 4 Romaine Lettuce leaves
- 1 Avocado, sliced
- 2 tablespoons Vegan Mayo or Hummus
- Salt & Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat or preheat air fryer to 375°F.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, maple syrup, smoked paprika, and garlic powder. Add tofu slices and marinate for 10 minutes.
- Heat olive oil in the skillet or spray air fryer basket lightly.
- Cook tofu for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden and crisp.
- Toast bread slices and prepare the veggies.
- Spread vegan mayo on the toasted bread slices.
- Layer lettuce, tofu, tomato, and avocado. Top with second slice of bread.
- Slice in half and serve immediately.
Notes
- Press tofu well to remove moisture for a crispier texture.
- Add fresh herbs or spicy mayo for extra flavor.
- Use sturdy bread to prevent sogginess.
