Description

A crispy, flavor-packed twist on the classic sandwich, the TLT brings together golden tofu, juicy tomatoes, creamy avocado, and crisp lettuce for a satisfying plant-based bite.


Ingredients

  • 1 block Extra Firm Tofu, pressed and sliced
  • 3 tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Maple Syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 4 slices Whole Grain Bread
  • 2 medium Ripe Tomatoes, sliced
  • 4 Romaine Lettuce leaves
  • 1 Avocado, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Vegan Mayo or Hummus
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat or preheat air fryer to 375°F.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, maple syrup, smoked paprika, and garlic powder. Add tofu slices and marinate for 10 minutes.
  3. Heat olive oil in the skillet or spray air fryer basket lightly.
  4. Cook tofu for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden and crisp.
  5. Toast bread slices and prepare the veggies.
  6. Spread vegan mayo on the toasted bread slices.
  7. Layer lettuce, tofu, tomato, and avocado. Top with second slice of bread.
  8. Slice in half and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Press tofu well to remove moisture for a crispier texture.
  • Add fresh herbs or spicy mayo for extra flavor.
  • Use sturdy bread to prevent sogginess.
