Description
Tiramisu Cake is a decadent layered dessert that transforms the classic Italian tiramisu into a soft, moist cake filled with espresso-soaked layers, mascarpone cream, and a dusting of cocoa powder.

- For the Cake:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- For the Coffee Syrup:
- 1/2 cup strong brewed espresso or coffee
- 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- For the Mascarpone Filling:
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 8 oz mascarpone cheese, room temperature
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- For Dusting:
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another large bowl, beat eggs and sugar until light and fluffy. Add milk, oil, and vanilla extract, then gradually mix in dry ingredients.
- Divide batter between pans and bake for 20–25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool completely.
- In a small bowl, mix brewed espresso, sugar, and coffee liqueur (if using) until sugar dissolves. Set aside.
- For the filling, beat mascarpone, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream to stiff peaks, then gently fold into the mascarpone mixture.
- Slice each cake layer in half horizontally for four layers total. Place one layer on a serving plate, brush generously with coffee syrup, and spread mascarpone filling on top.
- Repeat layering with syrup and filling until all layers are stacked. Frost top and sides with remaining mascarpone cream.
- Dust top with cocoa powder. Chill for at least 4 hours before serving for best flavor and texture.

- Use decaf coffee for a caffeine-free version.
- Chilling overnight enhances flavor and structure.
- Add a layer of shaved chocolate or chocolate chips for texture.
