Description

The King’s Banana Nut Crunch is a decadent dessert inspired by Elvis Presley’s favorite flavors—bananas, peanut butter, and crunchy nuts. This layered treat combines creamy banana pudding, nutty crunch, and sweet whipped topping for a show-stopping dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups crushed vanilla wafers
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant banana pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed
  • Optional: chocolate shavings or extra nuts for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix crushed vanilla wafers, chopped nuts, and melted butter until combined. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9×9-inch dish to form the crust. Chill for 10 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, whisk the banana pudding mix with cold milk for 2 minutes. Let it sit for 5 minutes to thicken.
  3. Stir peanut butter into the pudding mixture until smooth and combined.
  4. Spread half of the pudding mixture over the crust. Add a layer of sliced bananas.
  5. Spread the remaining pudding mixture over the bananas, then top with whipped topping.
  6. Chill the dessert in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
  7. Garnish with chocolate shavings or extra chopped nuts if desired.

Notes

  • Use freshly sliced bananas right before layering to avoid browning.
  • Substitute graham crackers for wafers if preferred.
  • This dessert can be made a day in advance—just add the garnish before serving.
  • Use natural peanut butter for a richer flavor, but make sure it’s well stirred.
