Description

Swirled Brownie Cookies with a Peanut Butter Twist are rich, fudgy cookies that combine the deep chocolate flavor of brownies with creamy peanut butter swirls. These decadent cookies are soft in the center with a lightly crisp edge — perfect for chocolate and peanut butter lovers alike.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped or chips
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • Optional: Flaky sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, melt butter and chocolate together until smooth. Let cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until pale and fluffy, about 1–2 minutes.
  4. Stir in the melted chocolate mixture until fully combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Drop tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  7. Spoon about 1/2 teaspoon of peanut butter on top of each cookie, then use a toothpick or knife to gently swirl it into the dough.
  8. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt if desired.
  9. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until the edges are set but centers are still soft.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Use natural or no-stir peanut butter for best consistency when swirling.
  • For extra peanut flavor, add peanut butter chips to the dough.
  • Cookies will appear soft right out of the oven but will firm up as they cool.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for longer storage.
