Description

Sweet Chili Sauce Chicken is a flavorful, easy-to-make dish featuring tender chicken pieces coated in a sticky, sweet, and mildly spicy chili sauce. Perfect served over rice or noodles for a quick weeknight meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, garlic, and ginger to make the sauce.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add chicken pieces and cook until browned and cooked through, about 6–8 minutes.
  4. Pour the sauce over the chicken and stir to coat evenly.
  5. Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 3–5 minutes until sauce thickens slightly and chicken is glazed.
  6. Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
  7. Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add crushed red pepper flakes or sriracha.
  • Use chicken breast for a leaner option, or thighs for juicier meat.
  • Add bell peppers or snap peas for added veggies.
