- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 3 cups sponge cake or pound cake, cubed
- 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Toss sliced strawberries with 1 tablespoon of sugar in a bowl and let sit for 10 minutes to macerate.
- In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream with the remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Line up clear serving glasses for layering the parfaits.
- Start with a layer of cake cubes, then add macerated strawberries, followed by a dollop of whipped cream. Repeat the layers until the glass is full.
- Finish with whipped cream and garnish with a whole strawberry or crushed graham crackers if desired.
- Chill for 20–30 minutes before serving for best texture and flavor.
