Description

Spicy Bayou Deviled Eggs are a zesty twist on the classic appetizer, infused with Cajun spices, hot sauce, and a hint of smoky paprika for a flavorful bite perfect for parties or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (such as Tabasco)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley or chives, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil, then cover and remove from heat. Let sit for 12 minutes.
  2. Drain and cool eggs under cold running water. Peel and halve the eggs lengthwise.
  3. Carefully remove yolks and place in a bowl. Mash yolks with mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, hot sauce, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg whites.
  5. Garnish with extra smoked paprika and chopped parsley or chives.
  6. Chill before serving for best flavor.

Notes

  • Adjust hot sauce amount to your preferred spice level.
  • Add a dash of celery salt for more traditional deviled egg flavor.
  • Serve chilled and consume within 2 days for freshness.
