Description

This Southern Georgia Pecan Cake is rich, moist, and packed with toasted pecans and sweet vanilla flavor. A true Southern classic that’s perfect for gatherings, holidays, or everyday treats.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1½ cups chopped pecans
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • ¾ cup whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F and grease your cake pan thoroughly.
  2. In one bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Alternate adding the dry ingredients and milk into the butter mixture until fully combined.
  6. Fold in the chopped pecans evenly.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and tap to remove air bubbles.
  8. Bake for 60 to 70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Serve as is, or top with a light glaze or powdered sugar if desired.
