Description
Smash Burger Tacos combine the juicy crisp of smash burgers with the handheld charm of tacos, layered with melty cheese, crunchy pickles, fresh toppings, and a creamy burger sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound Ground Beef (80/20)
- 8 Flour Tortillas (street taco size)
- 1 cup Cheddar Cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup Dill Pickles, sliced
- 1/4 cup Red Onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup Shredded Lettuce
- 1 Tomato, diced
- 1/4 cup Mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons Ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat a cast iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat until hot.
- Mix mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and garlic powder in a bowl to create the burger sauce. Set aside.
- Lightly oil the skillet if needed and ensure it’s evenly hot.
- Divide the ground beef into 8 equal balls. Place one ball on the skillet, top with a tortilla, and smash down firmly to spread the beef thin.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes until the beef is crispy. Flip so the tortilla is on the bottom, add cheese, and cook for 1-2 more minutes until melted.
- Repeat with remaining beef and tortillas.
- Top each taco with sauce, pickles, onions, lettuce, and tomatoes.
- Serve hot with optional sides like fries or slaw.
Notes
- Preheat the skillet well to ensure crispy edges on the beef.
- Use parchment paper when smashing to prevent sticking.
- Prepare toppings ahead to streamline assembly.
- Reheat leftovers in a skillet for best texture.
