Description
Slow Cooker Cream Cheese Taco Dip is a rich, cheesy, and flavorful party favorite made with seasoned ground beef, cream cheese, salsa, and shredded cheese. It’s the ultimate warm dip for game days, potlucks, or any casual gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1/4 cup water
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened and cubed
- 1 cup salsa (mild or medium, depending on preference)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese (optional)
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions (for garnish)
- Chopped cilantro or sliced jalapeños (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease.
- Stir in taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until thickened.
- Transfer the seasoned beef to a slow cooker.
- Add cream cheese, salsa, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and Monterey Jack (if using). Stir to combine.
- Cover and cook on low for 2–3 hours, stirring occasionally, until the cheese is fully melted and the dip is smooth.
- Before serving, stir well and garnish with chopped green onions, cilantro, or jalapeños if desired.
- Serve warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or fresh veggies.
Notes
- Use ground turkey or chicken as a lighter alternative to beef.
- Make it spicier with hot salsa or add diced jalapeños during cooking.
- Keep dip warm in the slow cooker on the ‘warm’ setting during serving.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated the next day—great for nachos or baked potatoes.
