Description

Sloppy Cheeseburger Pasta is a comforting one-pot meal that combines the savory flavors of a sloppy joe with cheesy pasta. It’s hearty, easy to make, and perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup tomato sauce or sloppy joe sauce
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard
  • 2 cups beef or chicken broth
  • 2 cups uncooked pasta (elbow, penne, or rotini)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk or cream
  • Chopped parsley or green onions (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or pot over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until soft, about 3 minutes. Add garlic and cook another 30 seconds.
  2. Add ground beef, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, and mustard. Mix well.
  4. Add broth and uncooked pasta. Stir to combine and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and cover. Cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
  5. Stir in milk and shredded cheese until creamy and fully melted.
  6. Garnish with parsley or green onions if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use your favorite pasta shape — elbow, rotini, or shells work great.
  • For extra richness, stir in a spoonful of cream cheese or sour cream at the end.
  • This dish reheats well and is great for leftovers.
