Description

  • 3 sticks (1 1/2 cups) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 6 large eggs, room temperature
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt or tube pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy (about 5 minutes).
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Alternately add the flour mixture and milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with flour. Mix until just combined.
  6. Stir in vanilla extract and almond extract, if using.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool in pan for 10–15 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack to cool completely.

  • For a crisp crust, don’t open the oven door until at least 1 hour into baking.
