Description

A warm, gooey, chocolate-packed skillet brownie baked to perfection with crispy edges and a fudgy center. Perfect for sharing straight from the pan or dressing up with a scoop of ice cream.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted and slightly cooled)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and place a cast iron skillet inside to warm.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Add the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Fold in the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  4. Remove the warm skillet from the oven and grease it lightly with butter or oil.
  5. Pour the batter into the skillet and smooth out the top.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the edges are set and the center is slightly soft.
  7. Sprinkle with extra chocolate chips or flaky salt if desired. Let cool slightly before serving.
  8. Serve warm, ideally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • Use room temperature eggs for smoother batter blending.
  • Don’t overbake for that gooey center goodness.
  • Add nuts or swirl in peanut butter for extra flair.
