Description
A warm, gooey, chocolate-packed skillet brownie baked to perfection with crispy edges and a fudgy center. Perfect for sharing straight from the pan or dressing up with a scoop of ice cream.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted and slightly cooled)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and place a cast iron skillet inside to warm.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Add the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Fold in the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Remove the warm skillet from the oven and grease it lightly with butter or oil.
- Pour the batter into the skillet and smooth out the top.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the edges are set and the center is slightly soft.
- Sprinkle with extra chocolate chips or flaky salt if desired. Let cool slightly before serving.
- Serve warm, ideally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
- Use room temperature eggs for smoother batter blending.
- Don’t overbake for that gooey center goodness.
- Add nuts or swirl in peanut butter for extra flair.
