Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract (if using) and salt.
  4. Gradually add the flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  5. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and roll to about 1/2-inch thickness.
  6. Cut into desired shapes using cookie cutters or slice into rectangles.
  7. Place cookies on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart.
  8. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until the edges are just turning golden.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
