Description

A luxurious twist on a comfort classic, this Seafood Mac and Cheese combines creamy cheese sauce with tender shrimp, lobster, and scallops for a rich and satisfying dish perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound elbow macaroni
  • 1 cup cooked lobster meat, chopped
  • 1 cup shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup scallops, chopped (optional)
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 cup Gruyère cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook macaroni in salted water until al dente, then drain.
  3. In a pan, melt butter, whisk in flour to make a roux, and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Slowly whisk in milk and cream until smooth, cooking until thickened.
  5. Stir in cheddar, Gruyère, and Parmesan cheese until melted.
  6. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  7. Sauté shrimp and scallops just until opaque, then fold in lobster.
  8. Combine pasta, seafood, and cheese sauce in a bowl, mix well.
  9. Transfer mixture to baking dish, top with breadcrumbs.
  10. Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  11. Let rest for 5 minutes, garnish with parsley, and serve.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated cheese for a smoother sauce.
  • Do not overcook seafood as it will continue to cook in the oven.
  • Add a pinch of mustard powder for extra depth in the cheese sauce.
  • Let the dish rest before serving to thicken the sauce slightly.
