Description

Creamy sausage pasta packed with flavor from Italian sausage, garlic, and parmesan. A quick and comforting dinner perfect for any night of the week.


Ingredients

  • 12 ounces penne pasta
  • 1 pound Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Add olive oil to the skillet, then cook the sausage, breaking it apart until browned. Remove excess grease if needed.
  3. Add chopped onion and garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 3 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Pour in heavy cream, reduce heat, and let it simmer for 3–4 minutes. Stir in parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  5. Boil the pasta until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain.
  6. Add pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat. Add reserved pasta water as needed for consistency.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir in chopped parsley and toss well.
  8. Serve warm with extra parmesan and black pepper if desired.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated parmesan for better flavor and melt.
  • Reserve pasta water to adjust sauce thickness.
  • Try with spicy sausage for a kick.
  • Great for meal prep — store in fridge for up to 3 days.
