Description

Sausage Baked Brie is a rich, savory appetizer that combines creamy brie cheese with flavorful sausage, all wrapped in golden puff pastry. It’s a crowd-pleasing dish perfect for holidays or special gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 wheel (8 oz) brie cheese
  • 1/4 lb (115g) breakfast or Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley or thyme (optional garnish)
  • Crackers, sliced baguette, or fruit for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out puff pastry slightly if needed.
  3. Place the wheel of brie in the center of the pastry. Spread Dijon mustard on top if using.
  4. Top with cooked sausage, gently pressing it onto the brie.
  5. Fold the pastry over the brie and sausage, sealing the edges and trimming excess if necessary. Flip seam-side down onto the baking sheet.
  6. Brush with egg wash.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.
  8. Let rest for 10 minutes. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve warm with crackers or sliced bread.

  • Try using spicy or maple sausage for flavor variation.
  • You can add caramelized onions or a spoonful of jam between the brie and sausage for a sweet-savory twist.
