Description

Salty Sweet Chocolate Covered Pickles are the ultimate flavor clash you didn’t know you needed! Crunchy dill pickles dipped in silky chocolate create a bold, quirky snack that’s surprisingly addictive. The sweet-savory-tangy combo is perfect for adventurous eaters, party trays, or a fun food challenge.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 whole dill pickles (spear or chip cut)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or shortening (optional, for smoother chocolate)
  • Flaky sea salt (for topping)
  • Optional: crushed pretzels, peanuts, or sprinkles for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat pickles dry thoroughly with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips with coconut oil in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
  3. Dip each pickle (or half of it) into the melted chocolate and let excess drip off.
  4. Place dipped pickles on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Sprinkle immediately with flaky sea salt and any optional toppings.
  6. Refrigerate for 10–15 minutes or until chocolate is set.
  7. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Drying the pickles well is key to help chocolate adhere.
  • Try bread & butter pickles for a sweeter twist.
  • Serve at parties as a unique conversation starter.
  • Use dark chocolate for a richer, less sweet contrast.
