Description
These Salmon Patties are golden, crispy, and packed with flavor. Made with fresh or canned salmon, herbs, and a touch of seasoning, they’re perfect for a quick lunch, dinner, or snack, served with a side salad or dipping sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (14–15 oz) salmon, drained and flaked (or 1 cup cooked fresh salmon, flaked)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 2–3 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the salmon, breadcrumbs, onion, mayonnaise, egg, mustard, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and parsley.
- Mix until well combined. Shape the mixture into small patties, about 2–3 inches in diameter.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Fry the patties for 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from the skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce, salad, or as a sandwich filling.
Notes
- You can use fresh salmon or canned salmon depending on convenience.
- Adjust seasoning to taste, adding herbs like dill or chives for extra flavor.
- For a lighter version, bake the patties at 375°F (190°C) for 15–20 minutes instead of frying.
- Leftover patties can be refrigerated for up to 2 days and reheated in a skillet or oven.
