Description

These Salmon Patties are golden, crispy, and packed with flavor. Made with fresh or canned salmon, herbs, and a touch of seasoning, they’re perfect for a quick lunch, dinner, or snack, served with a side salad or dipping sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (14–15 oz) salmon, drained and flaked (or 1 cup cooked fresh salmon, flaked)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 23 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the salmon, breadcrumbs, onion, mayonnaise, egg, mustard, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and parsley.
  2. Mix until well combined. Shape the mixture into small patties, about 2–3 inches in diameter.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Fry the patties for 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Remove from the skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  6. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce, salad, or as a sandwich filling.

Notes

  • You can use fresh salmon or canned salmon depending on convenience.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste, adding herbs like dill or chives for extra flavor.
  • For a lighter version, bake the patties at 375°F (190°C) for 15–20 minutes instead of frying.
  • Leftover patties can be refrigerated for up to 2 days and reheated in a skillet or oven.
