Description

Rose Simple Syrup is a fragrant and floral sweetener made with dried rose petals or rose water. It’s perfect for adding a delicate twist to cocktails, teas, desserts, and more.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup dried edible rose petals (or 1 tablespoon rose water)
  • Optional: a few drops of pink or red food coloring for hue

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine water and sugar. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  2. Add dried rose petals (or rose water if using instead) and simmer gently for 5–10 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and let steep for 15–30 minutes for a stronger flavor.
  4. Strain out the petals using a fine mesh sieve. If using rose water, no straining is needed.
  5. Stir in food coloring if desired, then let the syrup cool completely.
  6. Transfer to a clean glass jar or bottle and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • Use culinary-grade dried rose petals to ensure safety and quality.
  • For a quicker version, use rose water instead of petals.
  • Delicious in lattes, lemonade, cakes, or cocktails like gin or vodka spritzers.
