- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- Unsalted butter, for frying
- Maple syrup, for serving

Instructions
- Preheat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium-low heat and melt a knob of butter.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, pumpkin puree, brown sugar, vanilla, and spices until smooth.
- Pour the custard into a shallow dish.
- Dip each bread slice into the custard, soaking 20–30 seconds per side.
- Place soaked slices onto the hot skillet and cook 3–4 minutes per side until golden and crisp.
- Dust with powdered sugar, add whipped cream if desired, and drizzle with maple syrup.
- Serve immediately and enjoy warm.
