Description
The Poblano Popper Burger combines the smoky heat of roasted poblano peppers with creamy cheese and crispy bacon, all nestled inside a juicy beef patty. Inspired by jalapeño poppers, this burger is bold, flavorful, and irresistible.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 poblano peppers
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
- 4 burger buns
- Butter or oil, for toasting buns
- Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, or spicy aioli
Instructions
- Preheat grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat.
- Roast poblano peppers directly over flame or under a broiler until blackened on all sides. Transfer to a bowl, cover, and let steam for 10 minutes. Peel skins, remove seeds, and slice into strips.
- In a small bowl, mix cream cheese, cheddar, and crumbled bacon.
- Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape into patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Grill or cook patties for 4–5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.
- In the last minute of cooking, top each patty with poblano strips and a generous spoonful of the cheese mixture. Cover to melt the cheese.
- Lightly butter and toast burger buns.
- Assemble burgers with optional toppings and serve hot.
Notes
- You can substitute poblanos with jalapeños for more heat.
- For extra flavor, mix a dash of hot sauce into the cheese mixture.
- Use pre-cooked bacon for quicker prep.
- This burger is also delicious with a side of sweet potato fries or onion rings.
