Description

Oreo tiramisu is a fun twist on the classic Italian dessert, swapping traditional ladyfingers with layers of chocolatey Oreo cookies. With rich mascarpone cream, espresso-soaked Oreos, and a dusting of cocoa, it’s a decadent treat that combines creamy, crunchy, and coffee-kissed flavors in every bite.

  • 6 large egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) superfine sugar
  • 2 cups (470 ml) espresso, cooled
  • 2 teaspoons (10 ml) pure vanilla extract
  • 16 ounces (450 g) mascarpone cheese, at room temperature
  • 2 cups (470 ml) heavy whipping cream
  • 32 Oreo cookies (from a 13.29-ounce / 377 g package)
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a heatproof bowl set over simmering water, whisk the egg yolks and sugar together until thickened and pale, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. Whisk in the vanilla extract and mascarpone cheese until smooth and creamy.
  3. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.
  4. Quickly dip each Oreo into the cooled espresso (do not soak, as they will become too soft).
  5. Arrange half of the espresso-dipped Oreos in a single layer in the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish.
  6. Spread half of the mascarpone cream mixture over the Oreos.
  7. Repeat with the remaining Oreos and mascarpone cream, smoothing the top.
  8. Dust generously with unsweetened cocoa powder.
  9. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, before serving.

Notes

  • Do not oversoak the Oreos—just a quick dip ensures they hold texture while absorbing espresso flavor.
  • For a kid-friendly version, use milk instead of espresso.
  • Chill overnight for the best texture and flavor.
  • You can garnish with extra crushed Oreos or shaved chocolate on top.
