Description

  • 3 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded gruyere cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place a large pot or deep skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add butter and olive oil, then stir in the sliced onions and cook slowly, stirring occasionally, until they become deep golden and soft.
