Soft, buttery cookies with a rich Nutella center, these thumbprint cookies are the perfect bite-sized treat for any occasion.

- 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 egg yolks
- 1/3 cup Nutella (for filling)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the egg yolks and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Add the flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Roll dough into 1-tablespoon sized balls and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Gently press a thumbprint or the back of a teaspoon into the center of each ball.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool completely on a wire rack before filling centers with Nutella using a spoon or piping bag.
- Optional: sprinkle tops with sea salt or powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- Chill the dough for 15 minutes for easier shaping.
- Microwave Nutella for 10 seconds for easier filling.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
