- 12 oz uncooked pasta (penne or rotini)
- 3 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
- 3 cups milk
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (for topping)
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together milk, sour cream, garlic, onion powder, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Add uncooked pasta and broccoli to the baking dish.
- Pour the milk mixture evenly over the pasta and broccoli. Stir gently to coat.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar and Parmesan cheese evenly over the top. Cover tightly with foil.
- Bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and stir gently.
- Mix breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the top.
- Bake uncovered for an additional 10–15 minutes, until golden and bubbly.
- Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use whole milk for a richer, creamier bake.
- Frozen broccoli works well; no need to thaw.
- Add cooked chicken or ham for extra protein.
