Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 475°F and place a pizza stone or baking tray inside so it heats thoroughly.
- In a small bowl combine the ricotta cheese with the salt and black pepper and mix until smooth.
- Lightly flour a work surface and stretch the pizza dough into a large circle.
- Place small spoonfuls of the ricotta mixture around the outer edge of the dough.
- Fold the edge of the dough over the ricotta and press gently to seal, forming the stuffed crust.
- Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the center of the dough, leaving the stuffed edge uncovered.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan evenly over the sauce.
- Transfer the pizza carefully onto the hot stone or tray.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- Remove from the oven, drizzle lightly with olive oil, and scatter fresh basil leaves on top.
- Slice and serve while warm.
