Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1/3 cup Cocoa Powder
- 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/2 cup Buttermilk
- 1 large Egg
- 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 3/4 cup Chocolate Chips (for glaze)
- 3 tablespoons Heavy Cream
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your mini donut pan generously.
- In one bowl, whisk flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar. In another, mix buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.
- Pour the batter into a piping bag or zip-top bag with the corner snipped. Pipe into the donut wells, filling each about two-thirds full.
- Gently smooth tops if needed. Avoid overfilling as the batter will rise.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let donuts cool slightly. Melt chocolate chips and cream together until smooth, then dip each donut top into the glaze.
- Place glazed donuts on a rack to set, then serve warm or at room temp.
Notes
- Use room-temperature ingredients for better mixing and texture.
- Don’t overmix the batter to avoid dense donuts.
- Dip donuts twice in glaze for a thicker, glossy coating.
