Description

The Meatloaf Grilled Cheese Melt is the ultimate comfort food mashup—thick slices of juicy meatloaf layered between melty cheese and crispy, golden-buttered bread. It’s hearty, savory, and ridiculously satisfying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slices cooked meatloaf (about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick)
  • 4 slices of bread (sourdough, white, or your choice)
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese (or a mix of cheddar and mozzarella)
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened
  • Optional: ketchup, barbecue sauce, or mustard for spreading

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of bread. Place 2 slices, butter-side down, in the skillet.
  3. Top each slice with one slice of cheese, a slice of meatloaf, another slice of cheese, and then the remaining bread (butter-side up).
  4. Cook for 3–5 minutes on each side, pressing gently with a spatula, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  5. Remove from the skillet, slice in half, and serve warm. Add ketchup or BBQ sauce inside the sandwich if desired.

Notes

  • Reheat meatloaf slices before assembling if they’re cold from the fridge.
  • Use leftover meatloaf for a quick and easy meal.
  • Try adding caramelized onions or sautéed mushrooms for extra flavor.
