Description
This rich and creamy Marry Me Chicken Ditalini brings together tender chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, and ditalini pasta in a savory tomato-cream sauce that’s perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 ounces Ditalini Pasta
- 2 large Chicken Breasts, cut into bite-sized chunks
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- 4 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup Sun-Dried Tomatoes, chopped
- 1 cup Chicken Broth
- 1 cup Heavy Cream
- 3/4 cup Parmesan Cheese, freshly grated
- 1/2 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
- 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
- Salt and Pepper, to taste
- Fresh Basil, for garnish
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and bring a pot of salted water to a boil for the pasta.
- Cook ditalini pasta until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain and set aside.
- In the hot skillet, add olive oil and sear chicken chunks until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, lower the heat and sauté garlic until fragrant. Add sun-dried tomatoes, oregano, crushed red pepper flakes, and stir.
- Pour in chicken broth and cream. Stir and let it simmer gently until slightly thickened, about 5–7 minutes. Stir in Parmesan and let melt. Return chicken to the skillet.
- Add cooked ditalini pasta and toss everything together. Add pasta water as needed to loosen the sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
- Spoon into bowls and top with fresh basil and extra cheese if you like.
Notes
- Use room temperature chicken for even cooking.
- Salt your pasta water well to enhance flavor.
- Finish with pasta water for a smoother sauce texture.
- Freshly grated cheese melts better than pre-shredded.
