Description

Lemon Tiramisu is a refreshing twist on the classic Italian dessert. With layers of tangy lemon-flavored mascarpone cream, zesty lemon zest, and soft ladyfingers soaked in lemon syrup, this dessert is light, citrusy, and absolutely indulgent.

  • 1 package ladyfingers (about 24)
  • 1 cup lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the lemon juice and sugar. Heat over low heat until the sugar dissolves. Set aside to cool.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together until smooth and thickened.
  3. Fold in the lemon zest gently to incorporate it into the cream mixture.
  4. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled lemon syrup, ensuring they are moistened but not soggy. Arrange a layer of dipped ladyfingers in the bottom of a serving dish.
  5. Spread half of the lemon mascarpone cream over the ladyfingers and smooth it out evenly.
  6. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and top with the remaining lemon cream mixture.
  7. Cover and refrigerate the tiramisu for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
  8. Before serving, garnish with fresh mint leaves or extra lemon zest if desired.

Notes

  • If you prefer a stronger lemon flavor, add a few drops of lemon extract to the cream mixture.
  • This dessert can be made up to 2 days ahead of time for best results.
  • For a fun variation, add a thin layer of lemon curd between the layers of mascarpone cream.
