- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- Lime wedges or zest for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth.
- Add sweetened condensed milk, key lime juice, and lime zest. Mix until fully combined and smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the key lime mixture until well combined.
- In a small bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Stir until the mixture resembles wet sand.
- In a large trifle dish, layer the graham cracker mixture, followed by a layer of key lime filling. Repeat layers until the dish is full, ending with a layer of key lime filling on top.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to allow the trifle to set.
- Before serving, garnish with lime wedges or zest, if desired.
Notes
- For a stronger lime flavor, increase the lime zest or juice slightly.
- Use a store-bought graham cracker crust if short on time.
- This dessert can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
