Description

This Instant Pot Spaghetti is your new go-to weeknight comfort food, combining tender noodles, rich meaty tomato sauce, and bold Italian seasoning all in one pot with zero fuss.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz dry spaghetti
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cups water
  • Grated parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

  1. Set the Instant Pot to sauté mode and add olive oil. Once hot, add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant and translucent.
  3. Stir in the tomato paste, diced tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Break the spaghetti in half and layer over the meat mixture. Do not stir. Pour the water evenly over the top.
  5. Close the lid, set the valve to sealing, and cook on high pressure for 8 minutes.
  6. Once done, perform a quick release. Open the lid and stir everything together until the sauce is evenly distributed and noodles are tender.
  7. Let it sit for 2-3 minutes to thicken slightly. Serve hot with grated parmesan on top.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes while sautéing the onions.
  • You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or a plant-based alternative.
  • Don’t stir the pasta before cooking to avoid the burn notice.
  • Add a splash of cream at the end for a richer sauce.
