Description
Hot Fudge is a rich, velvety chocolate sauce perfect for drizzling over ice cream, cakes, or fruit. This homemade version is smooth, indulgent, and easy to make with just a few simple ingredients.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, butter, and corn syrup over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the butter is melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Add the cocoa powder, sugar, and salt, and whisk to combine. Continue to cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce is thickened and smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Let the hot fudge cool slightly before serving. It will thicken as it cools.
- Serve over ice cream, brownies, or other desserts, and enjoy!
Notes
- If the sauce thickens too much, simply reheat it with a bit more cream or milk to reach your desired consistency.
- You can store leftover hot fudge in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week. Reheat in the microwave or on the stove.
- For a richer taste, use dark chocolate cocoa powder instead of regular cocoa powder.
