Description

Hot Fudge is a rich, velvety chocolate sauce perfect for drizzling over ice cream, cakes, or fruit. This homemade version is smooth, indulgent, and easy to make with just a few simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, butter, and corn syrup over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the butter is melted and the mixture is smooth.
  2. Add the cocoa powder, sugar, and salt, and whisk to combine. Continue to cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce is thickened and smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Let the hot fudge cool slightly before serving. It will thicken as it cools.
  5. Serve over ice cream, brownies, or other desserts, and enjoy!

Notes

  • If the sauce thickens too much, simply reheat it with a bit more cream or milk to reach your desired consistency.
  • You can store leftover hot fudge in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week. Reheat in the microwave or on the stove.
  • For a richer taste, use dark chocolate cocoa powder instead of regular cocoa powder.
