- 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
- 1/3 cup cornstarch
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 8 oz egg noodles or lo mein noodles
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 cup bell peppers, sliced
- 1 cup snap peas or broccoli florets
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- For the Honey Soy Sauce:
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (slurry)
Instructions
- Cook noodles according to package instructions. Drain and toss with sesame oil. Set aside.
- In a bowl, toss sliced beef with cornstarch, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
- Heat a large pan or wok with vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Fry the beef in batches until crispy and browned. Drain on paper towels.
- In a separate small saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a simmer, then stir in cornstarch slurry. Cook until thickened, about 2 minutes.
- In the same pan used for the beef (wipe out excess oil), stir-fry bell peppers and snap peas for 2–3 minutes until just tender.
- Add crispy beef and sauce to the pan and toss to coat evenly.
- Serve over noodles, garnish with green onions, and enjoy hot.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, let the coated beef sit for 10–15 minutes before frying.
- You can substitute beef with chicken or tofu if preferred.
- Customize the vegetables based on what’s in season or your preference.
