Description
These Honey Garlic Chicken Drumsticks are sticky, savory, and slightly sweet with a hint of heat. Marinated in a flavorful honey-garlic-ginger sauce, then baked until caramelized and tender, they make a perfect weeknight dinner or party dish.

- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup avocado oil
- 1/4 cup tamari
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, grated
- 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons sriracha (optional)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 1/2–3 pounds chicken drumsticks
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together honey, avocado oil, tamari, garlic, ginger, apple cider vinegar, sriracha (if using), garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Add the chicken drumsticks to the bowl and toss to coat evenly. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2–4 hours.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and lightly grease.
- Arrange drumsticks in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Reserve some marinade for basting.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, turning halfway and basting with reserved marinade, until chicken is cooked through and skin is caramelized.
- For extra crispy skin, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end of cooking.
- Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Chicken thighs or wings can be substituted for drumsticks.
- Adjust sriracha to taste for more or less heat.
- For meal prep, marinate the chicken overnight for maximum flavor.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven.
