Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 2 teaspoons granulated sugar or 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 cup warm water
- 4 tablespoons olive oil, divided
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 to 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce, or to taste
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons shredded Parmesan cheese
- 4 ounces ground pork sausage or ground beef, cooked
- 2 ounces pepperoni, chopped
- 1 ounce salami, sliced, or other deli meat as desired
- 1/4 cup diced green bell pepper
- 1/4 cup sliced black olives
- 3 tablespoons thinly sliced red onion
- 2 large mushrooms, thinly sliced
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine yeast, sugar (or honey), and warm water. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and 2 tablespoons olive oil.
- Mix until a dough forms, adding additional flour as needed to achieve a soft, slightly sticky dough.
- Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). Roll dough into a 12-inch circle or desired shape and transfer to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
- Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses over the sauce.
- Evenly distribute cooked sausage, pepperoni, salami, bell pepper, olives, red onion, and mushrooms on top.
- Drizzle remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil over the pizza and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
- Remove from oven, let cool slightly, slice, and serve.
Notes
- Use warm water to activate the yeast properly.
- Knead the dough well for a soft, chewy crust.
- Customize toppings according to preference.
- Preheat oven and pizza stone for a crispier crust.
