Description

Homemade Peach Ice Cream is a creamy, dreamy summer treat bursting with the natural sweetness of ripe peaches. This no-fuss recipe delivers a velvety texture and fresh fruit flavor that’s perfect for cooling off on hot days or serving at backyard gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups fresh peaches, peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional, for brightness)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, toss the chopped peaches with 1/2 cup sugar. Let sit for 30 minutes to macerate and release juices.
  2. Blend half of the peaches into a puree; leave the rest chunky for texture.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the peach puree, remaining sugar, heavy cream, milk, vanilla, lemon juice, and salt. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  4. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or until cold.
  5. Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions (usually 20–25 minutes).
  6. During the last few minutes of churning, add the reserved chopped peaches.
  7. Transfer to a lidded container and freeze for at least 2–4 hours, or until firm.

Notes

  • No ice cream maker? Freeze the mixture in a shallow dish and stir every 30 minutes until smooth and creamy (about 3 hours).
  • Use very ripe peaches for the best flavor and natural sweetness.
  • Try adding a touch of cinnamon or almond extract for a flavor twist.
