- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 cups cooked green beans, drained
- 1 1/3 cups crispy fried onions
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat until cooked through. Drain excess fat.
- In a large bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Add cooked green beans and browned ground beef to the soup mixture. Stir to combine.
- Pour mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish. Spread evenly.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top if using, then add crispy fried onions.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and onions are golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Use fresh or frozen green beans; just be sure to cook and drain well.
- For extra flavor, add a splash of soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce to the beef while cooking.
- Leftovers reheat well and can be frozen for up to 2 months.
