- 4 slices thick-cut bread (sourdough or Texas toast)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese blend
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (or 1/2 tsp dried parsley)
- Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes for a spicy kick
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic and parsley (add red pepper flakes if using). Set aside.
- Spread the garlic butter mixture generously on one side of each slice of bread.
- Heat a skillet over medium-low heat.
- Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, onto the skillet. Add a generous amount of shredded cheese on top of each slice.
- Top with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side up.
- Grill for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing down gently, until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from skillet, let cool slightly, slice in half, and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use your favorite cheeses like provolone, gouda, or fontina for variety.
- For extra crunch, sprinkle grated Parmesan on the outside before grilling.
